Blue Lagoon

I think myself lucky to have known you
As phases of the moon.
An omnipresent charcoal acrylic
Swirled in sunflower smiles
Drifts in opposite directions.

Waxing hellos and waning goodbyes
Bloom into a brilliantly creamy,
Piercing ocean stare and
Rainy palms that stop time.

The breeze is inconsistent and
Drought is inevitable
But I rent a room on the shore
Content to be mesmerized by the tides.
